Sing and Swing Health and Safety Guidelines

We are committed to doing our best to mitigate the continued risks associated with COVID-19 and other airborne respiratory viruses (such as RSV and the flu) by teaching in larger spaces with good ventilation, practicing social distancing, enhancing sanitation and limiting prop sharing.

Before you leave home: Please do a quick self-assessment and stay home if you or anyone living in your home is showing any one of these symptoms: fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, other respiratory symptoms or any two of these symptoms: chills, repeated shaking with chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat or new loss of taste or smell. Please stay home and schedule an online makeup if you or anyone you’ve been in close contact with has been exposed to COVID-19.

Wash your hands before and after class!

Notify us if you or anyone in your immediate family has been diagnosed with Covid-19.

Indoor Class Details -

Vaccination strongly encouraged: We know at this point most people have developed some antibodies to Covid, either through up to date vaccinations and boosters, infection, or a combination of both. We encourage all families to stay up to date on all vaccines to help stop the spread of the virus in public.

All Classes are now mask optional.

Mask Optional Classes: We will not require masks in these classes, but any famiily is welcome to wear them. Your teacher might be masked in these classes, it is up to their personal comfort level. Email Jenny if you would like to know if your teacher is choosing to mask.

We will practice modified social distancing, and ask all grownups to help us lovingly redirect their own children back to their spot should they begin to get too close to another family if the family needs space. We will help families navigate boundaries with toddlers. To assist in visualizing boundaries, we will have families set up their space with a small or medium sized blanket, yoga mat, and/or towel to sit on. Spaces will be set up by the teacher with foam squares or spots so you can choose where you feel comfortable to "set up camp." As we move back to more shared spaces, we request that every family honor the comfort and boundaries of the others in the room. If you are are ok with a child coming close to socialize please invite them encouragingly! Communication between families will help everyone feel comfortable and help our children socialize safely.

Instruments sharing will return to pre-pandemic procedures: Teachers will share props and all shared instruments will be sprayed with a non-toxic sanitizer after use. For our playalong jam towards the end of classes, you may choose to use the instruments we provide, or you may purchase a kit from Music Together here or you can assemble your own set from items you have at home. Wooden spoons, scarves, plastic tubs with rice are just fine for instruments, you need not purchase anything. Please stay away from pitched instruments (keyboards, xylophones, harmonicas).

Makeups: Any missed class can be made up in person, online or via a recorded zoom class. Makeups may also be carried over into subsequent sessions providing the family is currently enrolled.
